01

Fixed connection questions

Confirm availability at the precise address, installation, minimum term and equipment ownership. A result for the building next door does not establish the same service at your property.

If one room is slow, investigate local Wi-Fi before assuming the external line is faulty. A suitable wired test or a test near the router can help isolate the problem.

02

Mobile connection questions

Use the intended router or hotspot at the location and time it will be needed. Check upload performance, work applications and the link between the phone and laptop. A powerful handset outside a window is not equivalent to a router in the middle of a room.

Confirm permitted use and any product restrictions. Think about sustained reliability rather than only the largest result from a download test.

03

Backup planning

Test a scenario where the primary connection is unavailable. Include account access, essential calls and the devices you must keep online. Consider power dependence and whether the backup shares the same underlying mobile network.

Keep the backup active and accessible. Expired allowance or forgotten credentials can make a seemingly available spare unusable at the moment it is needed.

Put it into practice

  1. Check fixed-service eligibility at the address.
  2. Test the mobile hardware in place.
  3. Simulate a primary-connection outage.
